The Subversive Sticker Project creates homemade vinyl decals with three simple elements as a means for exploring how simple DIY arts and humanities efforts can foster reflection and awareness about the world we live in. This project does not imagine a world transformed by a handful of poorly designed DIY hand-cut stickers. But can the world be transformed without art? Can the world be transformed without words?
The most radical and subversive things that we can do are read, learn, reflect, ponder, forge relationships, and make things ourselves. "SubSticks" draw together these radical practices.

Three elements of a SubStick:

A graphic depiction rendered to catch the eye, snare the mind, spur the imagination. Maybe it's familiar, sleek, and fits on a water bottle, or perchance it's uncanny, haunting.

Words of deep resonance and reflection. An expression that cuts through ordinary world that helps one see anew. A phrase that calls us to reflect or look closer?

No. 3--A QR Code

The sticker is transformed into a portal linking the interlocutor to online resources to help them further their reading and learning so that they may ponder and reflect more in the future.
